How do I fix my monitor resolution?

Hi

my problem with my pc currently is...

i have a recurring problem with the resolution of my monitor everytime i switch my pc on the resolution is always set to the lowest and there is no way for me to change the resolution back to the highest.Everytime i try to restore my settings, the computer asks me to restart again, in which the resolution will be at the lower when switched on. I also have no idea what causes this type of problem.

One problem could be is that you have an old monitor and it is finally failing you Or what you can do is go to system restore, and go to the calender and set the date back to the day before you've made the changes This should help you out.
