Downloaded Assistant Software

My kids downloaded some "assistant" software. It took over my search engine in IE6.0. I tried unistalling all the software but I cant get the old search engine back. This one sucks. How do I get rid of this thing and choose the search engine that I want to be used in IE.

Did you go to add/remove programs? You should go there first and try uninstalling from there If that doesn't work, try going to your program files folder and look for the program you no longer want In there, there should be an uninstall device Try using that Then find the folder that contains the search engine that you do want Try installing it again
