A few months ago my little sister's computer started acting funny. She came down with tons of adware and viruses that even norton couldnt get rid of. Her system appeared to be working with one exception. When she played games.. they would run fine, for a while, then the sound and the game would start lagging.. and the sound would skip terribly.. almost as if something had started running in the background and slowed the game down. It starts off about 5-10 minutes into any game.. and slows the game down skips both noise and graphics.. and picks up where it left off. Then as time goes by it starts getting worse and worse, until the game is no longer playable. I tried bringing up task manager to see what could possibly be running in the background, but with all the skipping and lag that was caused it was impossible to view until after it stopped.

After working on her computer for a few days.. i decided the only thing left to do was to reformat her hard drive. The problem is still occuring. It's hard to describe it, but it gets progressively worse and spaces itself out, whatever ur doing in the game lags terribly, and the sound slows down and skips. It also only happens in games. Is it the soundcard or video card? Everything used to run fine before! I reformated her whole computer so why arent they working now? I've talked to Compaq but they refuse to help because of expired warranty.

Here are a few facts that may prove useful:

-All the games DO fit under her system requirements

-I have updated the latest Direct X and the latest Video Card Drivers

-These games used to run 100% fine on her computer, this is a fairly recent problem

-Reformat did not fix the problem

-These games range from online to offline, new and old.

Please I beg of you, if you have a little sibling of your own then im sure you know how much of a pain they can be, when they need your help. So please, im sure there are a million things that could be the problem, but if u would kindly list as many as u can think of I'll get to work on it right away. I've worked on her comp for weeks now with everything i could think of and it still happens.

Have you tried uninstalling the program? If not, uninstall the program and reinstall it again If the problem still persists, then it could mean that you are having a video card issue and should replace it immediately To uninstall the game, go to your control panel and click add or remove programs Click the change or remove programs Select the appropriate program and click the change/remove button
