I've never run the defragger on me Compac MV740 desktop. Its about three years old. Now when I try, it never leaves the 0% completed description. I've started and left it for 18 hours, with no visable change. Can I coerse it into running? I'm not interested in removing and reinstalling it as one tech suggested I do. That may create more problems than it solves. Thank you!

To whom it may concern:

To answer your question, simply let the defragger run

If you had the computer for a whole 3 years and NEVER defragged it can take a long time to defrag, maybe even more then a day or two With all the programs that you uninstalled and installed within the 3 years it is probably common for it to defrag for a very long time I defrag my system monthly and it could take up to an hour and half depending what i installed and uninstalled during that month So just let it run.

Sincerely,

Dimitrios Theodorou
