Who is windows update?

When trying to install several programs of a cd, the installshield freezes up and the next, back and cancel buttons don not respond. The only way to get out is by clicking on x.

The information seem to have slipped to the bottom right hand side of the installshield window.

What can I do to fix this and get my programs to install?

The problem is caused by not being current with windows updates There are two ways to solve this problem 1 Permanent Solution, this is the recommended solution and the only solution that will solve the problem forever make sure you are logged onto the internet close out of all other programs on your computer click on the windows start button then select windows update if you don't see the windows update in your start menu you can search your c: drive for wupdmgr.exe and double click it to run it in the microsoft windows update screen select scan for updates next to the green arrow from the list of available updates choose "Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1" during the installation you have the option of either a compact or full installation (12MB and 18MB respectively) either one will work Running windowns updates monthly will help avoid other types of problems related to your system being outdated this step could take some time and may need to be run multiple times until you see all 0's (zeros) in the upper left-hand corner for all 3 types of updates.
