Receiving prompt "Local area connection. A network cable is unplugged." And it isn't! What shall I do to disengage this annoying "pop-up"?

Your netword cable might be loose Check to see if it is secure in the slot because one little jerk and your cable will be out You might also need a new RJ45 cable.
