One day last week when turning on the computer, we noticed some things had changed. For lack of a better term, I want to call them system fonts. An example is when you open anything in windows you always have 3 boxes in the upper right courner. minimize/restore/close. These are no longer a _ , double box and X. They are all strange symbols. Also, if you hit start, and an entry has more than one thing, it has a black> to the right. This is also a strange symbol. I'm thinking that somewhere there is a place that selects a font to be used for these special things. Maybe it is language related. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill Oetjen

Bill Oetjen:

This sounds to me like you have a virus that is affecting your windows explorer If you have an anti-virus program I would suggest updating the anti-virus then scan your system and delete any virus that you might have.

If you do not have a anti-virus program you may check if your computer has viruses for free at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ If the program finds any viruses it will NOT delete them due to it being a free scan, you must purchase their software If you see that you do have a virus it is advised to go out buy an anti-virus software and eliminate any viruses from your computer.

One last thing that you can do is get all Windows update that might also fix your problem.

Sincerely,

Dimitrios Theodorou
