Date and Time keeps changing

i m using windows xp pro edition on a 1.7 GHZ intel processor and a MEercury Kobian P4m266 mother borad .For the last past week i m noticing that the time shown in my pc changes automatically by itself..when i clicked the DATE and Time properties i saw it kinda freezes for a second or so after 5-6 seconds..i have tried Re-installing windows but all in vain..please help ..??.

The computer time is been changing automatically possibly because the motherboard battery may be bad Carefully open up the computer (remember to unplug from the wall first) and locate a quarter size metal disk on your motherboard (the biggest board inside) Then carefully pry up the old battery and replace it with a new one This should solve your time/date problem.
