My computer starts without icons!

How do I start my computer. When I turn it on it opens up windows but the icons or clicking on my name or guest don't appear? I can't therefore use my computer.

By the looks of it, it sounds like your hard drive has been wiped out because you're not getting anything on the screen I suggest you re-install your operating system First try running the computer restore cds that came along with your computer when you first purchased it This will bring your computer back to its original state Place the restore cd in the cd-tray and reboot the computer by pressing the power-on button on your laptop This will automatically autorun the cd in your cd-rom when you start it up again Follow the instructions to restore your computer If that fails, try installing your operating system software Remember, all these suggestions WILL clean out your hard drive Good Luck!!
