I uninstalled some software then after some time, ran system restore to a time and state when the softwares were still installed. After some time again, I decided to reinstall one of those softwares (PC Software Suite for my Alcatel phone) and got some error messages saying the software is 'already installed, please uninstall it before reinstalling' . I personally think that the registry still thinks the software is still installed while it actually isnt. I cant uninstall the said softwate because the original program file foldres were already gone. I could be wrong, I need your help in resolving this problem. Thanks in advance

Paolo Guanco:

To resolve this problem you need to take every trace of this program out of your computer Two steps to this First go to start and select search Once you have done this type in the name of the program and see what shows up, if anything If anything does show up manualy delete it, continue to do this until all the files that show up for that program are deleted.

Next, go to start and then run Once your in run type REGEDIT and click ok Once the regedit screen pops up click edit and then find In the find box type the name of the program as well, and clear what it finds, and keep clicking find next until it cannot find anything else related to that program.

After you have done this you should be able to reinstall the program.
