My laptop is not recognizing the ip address when I am trying to connect to the internet

I have went through the toshiba help program and none of those solutions corrected the problem if you have any solutions I would appreciate them. thanks

Are you plugged into a router? When plugged in, check the connection's IP address and gateway If there's no gateway, your laptop isn't retrieving an IP from the router via DHCP Make sure that the tcp/ip protocol is configured to aquire you IP address via DHCP When you do this you will probably get the following message "When plugged in, check the connection's IP address and gateway" to do this go to your command line (Start / Run: cmd) and type:

ifconfig /all This should solve the problem.
