Looking to purchase a multifunction printer

I am looking to purchase a multifunction printer no more than $300. My question is which printer is best. I have a lexmark X73 and the quality is not great and I go thru ink quite alot. I am in real estate so I do alot of letters, brochures etc. I need a good quality printer that scans, copies and faxes and can do monthly maximum volumn of 3,000 or more. I have heard alot of bad things on the hp mulitfunctions (very loud, jamming, goes thru alot of ink, software issues). Please any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
