How do I lock my desktop icons where I want them not where xp (home edition) wants them?

When I start or re-start my computer, it has moved them back to a different location, if I put

it in hibrinate mode it leaves them where I want them. I contacted HP Compaq by phone and

online and they could not help me. I never had this problem with windows 98.

Any assistance in this would make life a little easier,

Thanks,

Herman

Herman:

Right click a blank space on your desktop Point to Arrange Icons By and then ckeck off Align with Grid.

Once you have done this you should be able to put your icons where you please without windows XP resetting its location.
