I have a great game by EA games called Command and Conquer(Generals) that locks up or freezes during gameplay on my laptop. Sometimes I'm able to complete scenarios without this strange occurance happening and sometimes the game will lock up within 20 minutes or so of play. I just upgraded my Gateway M675 laptop to the gateway 675XL, Gateways top laptop totalling 3300 bucks, thinking I needed more video card memory at 128 MB. My system far exceeds the minimum requirements to play the game, I even close down background programs and my virus softare before running the game, but I still get the lockups. Can you advise on what else I can do or check to keep this from happening during game play? I have a Gateway 1000 deluxe desktop PC thats 3 years old with only 512 memory, 128 Nvida video card, and 120 harddrive, but I have no lockups ever with the game. I'm thinking the Video card may be the problem, can you advise and give me some tips on what else to check for on my laptop, the laptop is brand new and is 7 days old, please help. thanks guys, you do a great job..

To whom it may concern:

It is a possibility that it is the RAM of the video card I am assuming that you have 64mb 64mb is low these days for games, alot of games are requiring 128mb or more video card ram

Other then that the only thing I can suggest to you is to make sure you have DirectX 9.0b You can download this from the microsoft site at www.microsoft.com Make sure that you also update your video card drivers to its latest drivers at www.nvidia.com.

And the last thing you can do is download all the updates for your Windows version off the microsoft site.

Once you have done this and updated your system the game should be running fine.
