Lately while i may be working relatively quickly flicking between items on a page or moving between pages the computer will freeze. Sometimes for a short period at other times indefinitely. There have been ocassions when the screen has colour lines across it and it does not clear at all. I have to shut the computer down. Is it possible that there is a processing problem or could it be that the video card needs to be replaced. i replaced the video card about 1 1/2 years ago.

Thanx for your help.

Sometimes computers start to lag when there is an abundance of useless information laying around in memory What you can do to fix this problem is run disk defragmenter on your computer Click Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Defragmenter Be extremely patient for this may take a while Once the defragment is complete, make sure to reboot your computer for all the new changes to take place You should also run the Disk Cleanup which is also located in the System Tools just to be on the safe side You should perform these tasks on a regular basis to make sure that your computer remains running smoothly Good Luck!!
