Every time I start xp, it finishes the statup by opening an explorer window of the system32 folder. Why? How do I stop it and just give me a clean boot?

Most of the time this problem is caused by an unwanted registry entry These types of entries are caused by an imcomplete program removal or a virus that wrote to, or tried to write to the registry What you will want to do to fix this problem is run an anti-virus program such as Norton AntiVirus and run a virus scan and remove it if it exists If you have not already done so, you will also want to install and run Ad-aware You will be able to download the file at the following website http://www.snapfiles.com/get/adaware.html If these solutions don't seem to work, try removing any unknown items from your startup Click on Start->Run and then input 'msconfig' into the textbox and press enter This will bring up another window called System Configuration Utility, in the new window click on the 'Startup' tab and uncheck any unfamiliar items in your startup and reboot your computer Good Luck!!
