I am having very bad problems with practically all of my programs on my computer;

to be exact, the problem that i have is that all of my programs which may need an internet connection to work, (like limewire or napster) are just not noticing my internet connection....

i do have a firewall as all windows xp users have but i have disabled it to make things a bit easier.

i have tried everything to get the programs working but i dont seem to be getting anywhere!!!

Could there be a problem with my new broadband modem?? (i just singed up to broadband a few days back!)

Could it be the internet connection itself??

I am just completly lost!!

i need your help!

Can you help me at all. All help is appreciated!!

Thanks,

Dave

Dave:

This sounds to me like you have a virus that is affecting your system If you have an anti-virus program I would suggest updating the anti-virus then scan your system and delete any virus that you might have.

If you do not have a anti-virus program you may check if your computer has viruses for free at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ If the program finds any viruses it will NOT delete them due to it being a free scan, you must purchase their software If you see that you do have a virus it is advised to go out buy anti-virus software and eliminate any viruses from your computer.

Another thing you can try is to search your computer for adware which is simular to a virus You can get free adware removing program by going to security.kolla.de/ to download the program This scans for adware and removes anything thats harmful to your computer After you install the program download all the updates before you scan for any adware, after you scan you will be able to remove anything found.
