It is possible you have a hijack on your browser Do you have any other hijack symptoms...shut down problem, start page changed, changes when you change it back? winodws crash? system crash? Before getting into a HiJackThis log, try this--
To disable system restore files:
to dump %TEMP%:
double click your My Computer icon, put
%TEMP% in address bar, click enter, highlight and delete all that will delete some will not
Delete TIF files: click tools, click internet options, click delete files, when the box opens check 'delete off line content' click 'ok' , click delete cookies, click 'ok' Empty your recycle bin
Go into Safe Mode and run you AV, and clean the
%TEMP% files left If you have Spybot and Adaware run them also in Safe Mode, if not, get them, and do that To go into Safe Mode, shut down, when oyu push the start buttom on the pc, hold down both ctrl buttons on left and right side of keyboard until a menu appears, arrow down to 'Safe Mode' and click enter If your Help Center page comes up in Safe Mode 'X' it off so that only desk top icons are showing Proceed from there to run AV SpyBot and Adaware
