Can't find the OS?

I was on the internet when a message appeared on my computer that it will shut down due to error. After it shut down I tried to turn it on but instead a message appeared on the screen saying: cant find operating system. I cant turn it on and the same message appear everytime. Please advice. Thank you

And if all else fails, try this:

1 Boot from an XP CD.

2 When prompt, choose R for recovery console...

3 When Prompt, enter the propper installation you want to deal with along with the Admin password.

4 Run chkdsk /f

5 Try to restart your PC - If your getting the same results go on to the next step.

6 What is the latest software/Hardware you installed?

7 Enter the recovery console (Steps 1 through 3).

8 Use the LISTSVC command to view all avail Win services and their status.

9 Find and service which may imply the related software/hardware installed (list the suspected services and their status - for recovery).

10 Disable those services by using the DISABLE <Service Name> command.

11 Try to restart the PC...
