AFTER BOOTING UP MY SYSTEM AND LOOKING AT THE TASK MANAGER I HAVE 40 APPLICATIONS RUNNING NONE OF WHICH I STARTED. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ON THIS MACHINE HELP

Go to check task manager and the event logs to see if a specific process is hanging Or you can go through the list of running processes and kill the thread manually before shutting down If your computer shuts down immediately after you’ve deleted a process, you found your culprit If not, apply the same method to the other process until you find the culprit
