I am trying to run a system restore, but each time I attempt to do so a message pops up that says that I must first restart my computer in order to run system restore. The problem I have is that my computer will not restart properly. Each time I attempt to restart my computer it attempts to do so, but it never actually does and I end up having to press the restart button on my computer. What usually happens is that it takes me to a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper right hand corner. Bottom line, I would like to know how I can get system restore to run and if the fact that it isn't running has anything to do with the fact that I cannot get my computer to restart properly and if that's the case, how can I fix that as well?

What I recommend to do is to try restoring the system using the Restore CD that should have come with your PC instead of using the restoration program off of your PC That application may have a corrupted file.
