I am down to installing my os software as my final stage on building my computer?

I am down to installing my os software as my final stage on builging my computer.

When I install windows XP I get to the installation part after it has partioned the drive but nothing haspens after this. I read at the bottom where it says that windows will ow install XP

but I hear the DVD drive stop and it reverts back to installling all over again. I intially wsent into

my BIOS and uner boot I see nothing that recognizes my hard drive. Ealier I had seen it

recognized but not now. I guess I need a step by step guide to installing XP
