I have an amd athlon xp 2800+ processor, and it reads at 1.25 GHZ for some reason, i checked various forums about this problem, and some people seemed to have it. I tried setting my FSB frequency at 166 like they said, and i still didnt get any result. I have 1 GB of ram at 3200, so i think it should work fine... I also have a gigabyte k7 triton mboard. If you guys could help out, that would be great.

Sometimes if there are issues with CPU frequency a BIOS update from the manufacturer might help with this issue.
Also, try getting more information for you motherboard from gigabyte.
In addition, if your motherboard is setup with auto bios that could also be the problem Try setting it up manual bios it usually requires you to change a jumper in the motherboard and a bios update might help the matter (but be careful with bios upgrades, if it is not the right upgrade for yourmotherboard, you’ll need to get a new BIOS chip from gigabyte) I try getting mother info on your motherboard but I don’t the mode number
If you can post more info on your mother board I can help you more.
Hope that helps
