Norton firewall and anto-virus definitions wil not open

Norton firewall and anti-virus definitions won't open. Trying to get it open causes the computer to freeze, requiring hard shut down. Can you fix it if I bring it in?

Try uninstalling Norton firewall and anti-virus then install it back again.

To uninstall Norton firewall and anti-virus

1 Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel

2 In the list of programs, click Norton firewall and anti-virus, and then click Change/Remove

3 Click Uninstall Norton firewall and anti-virus, and then click Continue

4 Click Yes to confirm that you want to start uninstalling Norton firewall and anti-virus

5 Restart your computer

Begin installing Norton firewall and anti-virus again.
