My computer will not power down using any method. If I unplug the power cord and plug back in, it is still on and in sleep mode. I want to disable the sleep mode, but can't do anything with it now.

Try the following:

If you had problems disabling the sleep mode in BIOS, here's what you can try in Windows 98:

1.In the System control panel, click on the Power Management Folder

2.Select the Power System tab

3.Choose whether you want your computer to go to sleep after one hour, five hours, or not at all

4.Hit OK.

Hope this works Good Luck!
