I just put together a Intel P4 3Ghz P4 system with a D865Perl board. I

have a Antec case with a 430 Tru Power

power supply in a Antec 1080 AMG case.

Just a quick question. When I got everything together and plugged in the

power cord and then switched on the

power supply switch on back. The power supply fans and system fans began

to spin up. They stop a few seconds

after that and the green standby LED light on the board is lit.

***The system starts normally when I hit the power

switch on the case front.

My question is why does the power supply and case fans start to spin up

for a few seconds and then stop. Only

occurs when the system is totally shut down and there is no standby power

and the power cord is disconnected or the switch on the power supply is turned off.

Did I miss something or a connector?

Your computer power supply has a timing mchanism that automatically shuts down when it power source is disconnected I wouldn't be concerned with this, as long as your not having any problems as result of you power supply.
