Cant change colors?

the color is distorted on the computer,makes it hard to see pictures and some words,our printer wont print anything at all eaither,could the printer be messed up because of the color?and do you no why my color is stuck on 16color it wont apply new colors it just keeps telling me to restart the computer,so the new colors can take effect.

Hi, I think this is could be due to the following: 1- The Windows Desktop Update component is installed and you are currently viewing your desktop as a Web page

2-Your desktop wallpaper contains a .jpg or .gif graphics file

3-Your desktop wallpaper is stretched To fix this problem here is what you need to do:

1-Click Start, point to Settings, and then double-click Display

2-Click the Web tab

3-Click the "View my Active Desktop as a web page" check box to clear it, and then click Apply

4-Click Yes when you receive the following prompt:

The wallpaper you selected can be shown on the desktop only if Active Desktop is enabled Do you want to enable it?

5-Click OK
