What is potential harddrive problem looming?

my computer has a pinging sound in it and it freezes up at times. any help

That pinging sould that hear is could be a potential hard drive problem looming.

it is strongly advised that you procure an adequate harddrive and make a backup of all your important information immediately that pinging or thrashing sound that you are hearing are the initial stages to bigger problems.
