You had a question in your newsletter "Customize what you print with just a few east steps."

Question answered on Sept 17, 2004.

I tried this tip and now my printer carriage doesn't stop in the center like it used to, it goes all the way to the left then starts to print and I get "printer is having a problem" with clicks and grinds because it is trying to print off center or way off to the left. Does this make sense? And also when I open, say, My Computer that little section on the left of the screen that tells you what you opened and how big it is is totally gone. In other words, anything to the left of anything is gone. I need help fast. I don't know if this means my printer is bad and I need a new one (which I can't afford now) or if there is something I can do to trip everyting to act like it used to. PLEASE HELP ME FAST, I NEED MY PRINTER. Thanks for your help. This is keeping me up nights.

What you have is a slight misconfiguration problem I will give you the steps to set your printer back to its original state Your first step will be to click on my computer Then you will click on control panel Now look for printers and double click that icon If you have more then one printer connected right click the printer with the check on it You will now recieve a list of selections to choose from On the bottom of that list you will click on prefrences Now the prefrences window has taps on top starting with general and ending with configure, click the configure tab Now you will see text "automatic configuration" with a button underneath it that says "update now" press that button and your configurations will be reconfigured for your convinence.

Hope this was helpful.
