How can I close Internet Explorer?

When ever I start my start page like yahoo or MSN I can not close them when I click on the X in the corner of the Internet Explorer frame.I can only close if I hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete to close that window.What is wrong?

A way in which you can fix this problem is by deleting the registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects]

To access it, you have to go to the start menu, then Run, and type in REGEDIT and hit enter Next, click on HKey_local_machine and continue opening the folders Next would be Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion, then Explorer, then Browser Helper Objects You might want to copy it first before deleting it
