How can my computer read .xls files?

how do i get my computer to read and email i recieved which contains a file with the extension .xls.?

Xls is a Microsoft Excel file If you do not have excel and want a free program that will open it, Star Office will do it for you It is a free office suite from Sun You can download it at

www.sun.com.

You can also download the Excel File Reader from microsoft.com for free This allows you to view, print and copy tables downloaded in Excel format
