Why is my CD-rom drive opening and closeing?

Why does my Cd-Rom open and close as it pleases, and i can't play a cd anymore.

Your problem may be one of two things First one I would say is that you have a virus or a trojan horse on your PC that’s making your cd-rom drive open and close like that Another thing that it could be is that the cd-rom drive is broken due to misuse There is a latch on the inside that holds the cd-rom drive closed and if that’s broken, you cannot fix that You may need a new cd-rom drive I would say before purchasing a new cd-rom drive, run antivirus scan and scan your pc for any viruses If that doesn’t work, then I would suggest going to get a new cd-rom drive That should solve your problem I hope that helps!
