When attempting to open Internet Explorer (IE 5.5 on Windows ME), the message "Explorer has caused an error in <unknown>." appears. I click ok to the message, but still cannot access IE. Other times when attempting to open Internet Explorer (double-clicking the same icon as used before), the message "Explorer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL or "Explorer has caused an error in ASOEHOOK.DLL." appears. Do you know how to correct this issue?

With IE5 there is a way to do a repair in case the installation has gotten corrupted.
1 Go to the Control Panel
2 Open up Add/Remove Programs
3 Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools
4 Click the Add/Remove button
5 Check Repair Internet Explorer
6 Click on the OK button
Good Luck!
