Why do I keep getting an error message that comes up on post screen i/o port conflict 2f8?

hi iam having a problem with an error message that comes up on post screen i/o port conflict 2f8 it happend after i replaced the battery.has anyone got any idears thankx.

You have to go into you BIOS In BIOS try disabling whatever serial port is assigned 2F8: usually Com Port 2 Then reboot Reboot into safe mode if you can I gather you can't read the BSOD, right This big storm could just be the cause You may have to open her up and manually check the board for blown capacitors Try also taking all the cards out except for the video and one stick of ram (sdram I presume?).

If you cant boot, you are going to need to get your hands on a Windows CD The disk i/o error suggests that file system may be corrupt You need to boot into the recovery console in order to run a chkdsk, as well as to replace the ntoskrnl file You may also need to run fixmbr or fixboot.
