Why do I get the error message appears SetConFig.exe has encountered a problem and must close?

Each time the computer is booted, the message appears SetConFig.exe

has encounterred a problem and must close., send a report to Microsoft.

What is this?

Ok, I went to Google.com and searched to see what could cause the problem and I got a number of hits From what I see, this looks like it is part of the HP printer software but in every case there is talk of a dropper virus

If you have an HP device, you'll want to browse through their support pages and/or try reinstalling the program Because virus was mentioned in almost every google hit, strongly suggest doing a full system scan with an antivirus program that has current definitions as well.

IF you would like some more Information go to www.google.com and type setconfig.exe in as the search word Browse through all the hits.
