Just finished assembling a new computer with some components from my old system, some new components, and a new case with a 450w power supply. The only new parts are the case and hard drive (120gb Western Digital). After getting everything together, I fired it up and it shuts down almost immediately (1-2 seconds). I suspect a bad power supply or switch. Any ideas?

Try removing and reconnecting most of the power and data cables, and reseating the RAM stick Maybe the power cable from the button on the case to the MB was defective Maybe you had it on backwards Try reversing the connection on the board.
