Printer Settings

Thanks for taking my question!

Recently I get this message when I go to Settings, Printers: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." The printer worked before and prints a test page from the printer. My only recent activity was to download Musicmatch 9.0 which I then uninstalled thinking it may have been the problem. I also uninstalled and re-installed my printer, but I had to skip the step for getting it recognized. In the MS Knowledge Database they mention a similar problem for a different software that requires deleting a key, but that key is not on my PC.

I am also running AdsGone 2004 and McAfee Virus Scan and Personal Firewall. I installed Cloudbank Spam Blocker (snoe) about 2 weeks ago. All of my other programs seem to be working fine.

So I can not associate a program with the printer window because I don't know what program is run when one clicks on that option!

Thanks again -

John F.

Disable the firewall, run the virus scan on the printer Then try to reconfigure your printer so works with your system.
