Hi,

I turned my computer on one day, and all appeared to be normal, until it came to loading the OS (Win 98). The screen just went a blue colour (the background to the desktop) but no icons or the toolbar appeared, meaning i could not do anything.

I use my computer mainly for the internet, so I am worried it might have become infected.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

James Edstrom

What you have to do is boot into safe mode and review your device manager to figure out if you have any currupt or bad drivers If you have downloaded any recent programs deleate them so they do not interfere with your operationg system In order to go to device manager right click on my computer and click properties Then go to hardware and finally device manager From there it is sell explanitory go to every device and see if there is any conflict In order to deleate any programs prior to your problem, go to double click my computer and then control panel Now you will click on add/romove programs Here you will deleate any programs you have installed or downloaded prior to your mishap.

Hope this was helpful
