Why does a short piece of music play?

Why does short pieces of music play on computer once in awhile. It is usually the same song or songs that I never downloaded.

START

SETTINGS

CONTROL PANEL

SOUNDS and MULTIMEDIA

Check through your 'SOUND EVENTS' and check to see if any of them are set up with alternate sounds.
