I have been trying to install a five disc game. Everything works fine until prompted to insert either disk 2 or 3 or 4 (multiple attempts and problems occurs on different disks). I insert the require disk and at this point the cd-rom drive starts spinning ( it sound like it is ) cd-rom light blinks momentarily, but nothing else happens. No cd-rom drive light and no data transfer. It acts like it just locks up. I also get a prompt to insert whatever disk I just inserted and click ok. I try to open and close the drive; however, drive will not open. I click ok and nothing happens, and the prompt stays on the screen until I cancel the installation. This has happened before on other games and I just keep on trying until it finally works, however I can't even get close to installing the game this time.

Could this be a hardware of software problem.

Drive is a Philips DVD+RW-D01.

1 It's very possible the drive is failing.

You can try and clean the CD-ROM drive and the disk Check it for scratches that cause some disks not to work.

2 Is a possibility that the CD your trying to use is faulty.

Try to install the game on another computer is the same problem occurs, contact the manufacturer and have them send you a replacement.
