Hello all. I have just put a new motherboard in and I am having a problem. When I hit the power switch the fan starts to spin for a second and dies out. Any idea what could be causing the problem?

Sounds like something is shorting Take a look at the heat sink make sure it's on correctly Check to make sure the MB isn't coming in contact with part of the case Especially check the metal mounting posts between the board and case Make sure the RAM is fitting OK

Take the MB out of the case, set it on the box it came in Do not connect anything except the Power, cpu/heatsink/ fan and RAM See if the fans stay on.
