Why I don't see my harddrive

I have computer when ever i boot up it show no harddrive i went to my bios file try to find it but i can`t find it when i auto decetion it

This question was answered on November 24, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.


1.) check that your IDE cables (the grey ribbons) are not damaged (try others if you have around)

2.) check master - slave jumpering.. if its only one drive.. have it set on CS (cable select)

3.)check the drive on another computer to see if the drive is not damaged

4.)put another harddisk with or without a new IDE cable to see if your motherboard is damaged

(without as in staying with the cable you have)
