Why can't I right-click or delete files in explorer

Also, I can't right-click any icons in the quick-launch toolbar. If I do, an hourglass appears and after a few seconds the explorer programs closes and restarts. Reinstalled SP2 but no luck at all. OS: XP Pro w/SP2.

If you have divx installed update it,if not

control panel/system/advanced/performance settings/data execution tab

tick the lower radio button and add explorer,exe to the box

you can then reboot and change it back or leave it
