I have a Gateway computer that’s about 4 years old running Windows 98. It includes a Gateway VGA monitor (model EV700). I had to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows using their resource CD’s. Everything is fine now except the monitor will only display the lowest resolution settings. I have tried to change the resolution through the display icon in control panel, but it will not allow me to increase the resolution. I have even gone to the Gateway web site and download the latest driver for this monitor, but still have the same results.

As a result, the monitor will no longer display graphics of any kind while on the internet or while working with photo imaging software.

Would appreciate any advice….. thank you in advance.

Ok, the problem is not the monitor; the problem is the video card

You have to find out what kind of video card you have in your computer Go to the gateway site and try to download a driver for that card if your have a problem Try going to the Microsoft website and look for a driver for that or check out the support section of that site for further information.
