Could my computer be infected with a virus, even though I have run Nortorn which shows no virus. I have noticed when my computer is shut off for the evening using the front (case) on off switch. Several hours later it will re start all by its self. This has happened several times in the middle of the night and I have been awakening to the sound of my machine booting up.

The way to stop this, is to shut off the power supply master switch on the back of the computer. I have checked my BIOS to make sure that the usual options, such as Wake On Lan, or Keyboard Spacebar start, are disabled....

I have also replaced the on off switch with another working on off switch....

I havent seen any ghosts lately, either....

And idea why may machine is powering up by its self??

Thanks in advance....

I'd recommend you check all your cooling fans, might be a broken CPU fan so you computer shuts down of overheating.
