Have you started accumulating a collection of random toolbars in your web browser?

I have a hard enough time finding meaningful content on the Internet without having my browser consumed by useless toolbars Granted, not all toolbars are useless The Google searchbar offers some useful features; but, most are simply adware and spyware disguised as junkware

This week’s tip will help regulate these annoyances, but be aware that doing so will also disable that lovely Google searchbar – sorry

Follow the steps below:

1 Open Internet Explorer > go to Tools > choose Internet Options > click the Advanced tab > uncheck the option that says Enable third-party browser extensions

2 Click OK

3 Restart your computer

Keep in mind that this will not solve a spyware problem You should still be diligent about scanning your system for malware, such as adware, spyware, trojans, viruses, and worms Also be sure to download all of the latest critical updates from Microsoft to ensure Internet Explorer is properly patched You can get the latest updates for your computer at windowsupdate.microsoft.com Enjoy!
