How do I fix the unread e-mails display on Windows XP

Hello I have windows xp,and under my user account name,I have this message:youhave x amount of unread emails:I have this all the time even when I do not have emails.Is there a fix??

To fix the number of unread e-mails on Windows XP Welcome screen:

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ UnreadMail

Double-click the value MessageExpiryDays in the right pane, and change the value to 0

Close the registry editor and log off from Windows for the changes to take effect.
