Sound is low

I have installed a new video card and now my sound is very low.....except when I first boot up the computer , then it is fine...but after that all internet/video/dvd operations are barely heard

You should 1st go to the start menu and then go to all programs then accessories and then entertainment and adjust your volume control If that doesn't work then you should check your speakers on someone elses computer or check the back and see if they are connected right.
