Okay I have Windows XP on my Emachine Notebook (M2352). And at certain random times my computer will shutdown just as if the power went out in my house. I believe I have no worms, trojans or viruses at all. I have scanned the computer with Norton and everything looks safe. I even *reformatted* my computer but it still does it. I have everything placed right in the power managment in the control panel. Can anyone give me an idea on what to do?

It sound’s like a hardware issue to me Seeing that you had reformatted the drive and it still does it To check for sure that its a hardware problem, reboot and go into the BIOS and let it sit If it shuts down, it’s a hardware issue You should also check and see if the fan is running properly.
