Why do my Cds get hot when I take them out Of Hard Drive

my gateway is 5 yrs old this march --- have noticed lately when i take the cds out they are very hot ... almost hot enough to burn --- is my computer dying ? is it a fan problem ?

CD's can get warm, but they shouldn't be hot The CD drive usually sits up top near the power supply so it can get hot if the inside of the case isn't cooling correctly It never hurts to make sure that all the fans are working and things are clean inside Still I would think you would have other problems if your system were overheating.
